Lagos Life Codes

Active codes

If you've seen a “new Lagos Life code” on TikTok today, it isn't on this list because it doesn't work. There is no box in the game to type a code into, so nothing anyone posts can be redeemed.

Expired codes

None. Lagos Life has never had a code system, so there are no old codes either. Any “expired codes” list you find elsewhere was made up to fill a page.

Why Lagos Life has no codes

Codes are common in Roblox and gacha games, where developers drop them to reward followers. Lagos Life is different: the whole game is built around earning and managing money. Rent comes every Saturday, businesses pay back over weeks, and land grows slowly. Free money codes would break that, and the game has already seen what happens when free money floods in.

In the first week, an exploit let some players print huge sums. Chat filled with trillionaires and ₦10,000,000,000 campaign “giveaways”, and the developer had to reset the exploited money. That doesn't mean codes will never come; a small code for a milestone or event would be easy to add. But for now, the developer's updates have been about new jobs, places and fixes, not freebies.

How to spot a fake Lagos Life code

Code scams come in a few familiar shapes. If you see any of these, you can safely scroll past:

• The “unlimited naira” post

A screenshot of a huge balance and a caption like “use this code before it expires”. The balance is edited or came from the exploit that was reset, and the code does nothing because there's nowhere to type it.

• The code generator site

Pick an amount, watch a fake progress bar, then “verify you're human” by filling in surveys or installing apps. The site earns from your clicks. You get nothing.

• The DM seller

Someone in chat or on WhatsApp offers codes or naira for a bank transfer or airtime. Once you pay, they block you. Real in-game naira is only sold inside the official game.

• The APK with codes built in

A download promising Lagos Life with free money unlocked. There is no official Lagos Life app at all, so any APK is unofficial and can contain malware.

• The token airdrop

Crypto tokens with Lagos Life in the name have been hyped on X and TikTok. We found no announcement from the developer linking any token to the game.

• The fake admin

A “moderator” says they can apply a code to your account if you share your password. Nobody official will ask for it, and asking is against the rules.

The simple test: if it asks you to pay, download, “verify” or share a password, it's not a code. It's a trap with a danfo on it.

What happens if you fall for one

You lose real money

Bank transfers and airtime sent to a code seller don't come back. In-game naira can't be cashed out either, so there's no way to recover what you paid through the game.

Your account can be suspended

The official terms list scamming, asking for passwords and exploiting bugs as rule breaks. The developer can warn, suspend or close accounts that do them, so using a “hack” can cost you your whole Lagos Life.

Exploited money gets taken back

Even if something seems to work, money that came from a bug gets reset. You'd end up with the same balance you had before, minus whatever you paid the person who sold it to you.

Free rewards that actually exist

No codes doesn't mean no freebies. These are the real ways to get extra money in Lagos Life without paying a kobo:

• Daily gem hunt

  Every day

Solve the day's clue, find the hidden gem and collect the cash prize shown in the game.

• Employee of the shift

  Every shift

Win 4 tasks during a work shift for a 15% pay bonus. Free money for paying attention.

• Minimum wage policy

  Some weeks

When the elected governor picks it, everyone earns 15% more per shift. Vote for it.

• No-skill gigs

  Any time

Carry Load at Balogun Market and Help at the Buka pay from day one, no skill needed.

• Governor's allowance

  If you win

Win the weekly election and collect ₦25,000 a day for a week. It costs ₦50,000 to run.

• Gifts from friends

  If you're lucky

Players can send each other money for a 5% fee. Ask a friend, not a stranger.

Put together with a steady job, these beat any code. The full plan, from your first gig to owning land, is in how to make money in Lagos Life.

Gem hunt answers aren't codes

Some “Lagos Life code today” posts are really answers to the daily gem hunt clue. That's a different thing: the clue leads you to a hidden gem, and you collect the prize by finding it, not by typing anything in. Sharing an answer isn't a scam on its own, but it's the favourite disguise for one. If the “answer” comes with a link, a payment or a request for your login, it's bait.

Solving it yourself is half the fun, and it's free. When a clue seems to point somewhere specific, the Lagos Life map lists every place in the city with its opening hours, so you don't walk to a building that closed an hour ago.

How we check for codes

After every update we look through the game's menus and in-game phone for a code or redeem option, read the developer's posts on X and check the official site. The date at the top of this page is the last time we did it. If a code system appears, this page changes the same day.

If codes ever arrive

We'll list every working code with its reward, the date it was announced and when it expires, plus step-by-step instructions for where to type it in. Codes would only ever be announced by the developer, so if a code appears here, it'll link to the official post it came from. Until then, the best thing to do with a “Lagos Life code” is ignore it and go do a shift.
