lagoslife.app (the main one)

This is the address the developer, Shalom Rayhamen, uses now, and the one we link to everywhere on this wiki. It also hosts the public player stats page and the official terms of service.

lagoslife.eliysites.com (the original)

The game launched on the developer's own studio site, Eliy, and that address still works. It's a handy backup when the main link is having a moment during peak hours.

How to spot a fake Lagos Life site

Since the game blew up, copycat pages have appeared with names like “Lagos Life download” or “Lagos Life online free”. Some are harmless fan pages (like this one), some are ad farms, and some are worse. Close the tab if a site:

• asks you to download an APK, EXE or “launcher” before you can play;
• wants money to “unlock” the game or skip a queue;
• asks for your Lagos Life password on a page that isn't lagoslife.app;
• promises free naira, “codes” or a token airdrop for signing up.

The real game is free, has no codes and never needs a download. If you're ever unsure, type lagoslife.app into the address bar yourself rather than tapping a link.

Sign up in five steps

Creating an account takes a couple of minutes. Here's what happens, in order:

   The server decides if you start rich, broke or as a student. You can't reroll it.

   Drop into the city

   Settle into your starting home, then open your in-game phone to find a job.

Choosing a username

Other players see your name in chat, on dates and on the ballot if you ever run for governor, so pick something you won't cringe at in a month. The official rules say usernames must be respectful and can't impersonate someone else, so “RealDavido” is a ban waiting to happen.

What the birth lottery means for you

Lagos Life login: getting back in

Logging in works the same on every device: open the official link and enter the username and password you signed up with. Your Sim, money and home live on the server, not on your phone, so you can start a shift on your laptop and finish your evening at Elegushi on your phone.

One account per person

The terms ban extra accounts used to vote more than once in the governor election or to get around a ban. Keep one account, keep it safe, and don't share it with your cousin “just to help with shifts”.

Nobody official will ask for your password

Not the developer, not a “moderator” in chat, not a page offering free naira. Asking for passwords is against the rules, so anyone who does it is up to no good.

Is there a Lagos Life app or APK?

No. There is no Lagos Life APK, Play Store listing or App Store app. The game is a website, and every “Lagos Life APK” file you'll find was made by someone else. At best it opens the website inside a wrapper full of ads; at worst it's malware with a danfo on the icon.

What you can do is save the website to your home screen. It then opens full screen from its own icon, just like an app.

On iPhone or iPad (Safari)

1. Open lagoslife.app in Safari.
2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

On Android (Chrome)

Why the home screen icon beats an APK

It updates itself every time the developer ships a fix, it can't read your messages or contacts, and it takes almost no storage. You get the app feel without handing a stranger's file the keys to your phone.

Which phones and browsers work best

Android

Use an up-to-date Chrome. Most mid-range Android phones run the city fine. If yours is older, close everything else first; the game draws a whole city, and that takes memory.

iPhone and iPad

Use Safari on iOS 16.4 or newer. Older iPhones that can't update that far will struggle, so a laptop browser is the better option there.

Laptop or desktop

Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox all open the game. A bigger screen makes it easier to read chat and watch your needs at the same time, which is why a lot of players grind shifts on a laptop and socialise on their phone.

Data and Wi-Fi

The first load pulls down the most, so do it on Wi-Fi if data is expensive for you. After that, a steady connection matters more than a fast one. Constant drop-outs usually mean your signal is weak, not that your account is broken.

Before you spend real money

Lagos Life is free, but you can buy extra in-game naira. Three things from the official terms are worth knowing before you tap pay:

• It can't be cashed out. In-game naira has no real-world value and can't be sold or moved outside the game.
• Purchases are final. Refunds are for payments that went through without the naira arriving, or for duplicate charges.
• Only buy inside the game. Naira sold by strangers for cash is either a scam or exploited money that can be reset.

Play nice: the chat rules

Lagos Life is multiplayer, so every face you meet is a real person. The terms ask players to be respectful in chats, slogans and announcements, and they ban harassment, threats, hate speech, scamming and sharing other people's private information. Breaking them can get your account warned, suspended or closed. Keep your phone number and home address out of chat, especially when someone you met at Quilox five minutes ago is suddenly very interested in them.
