MindSpace, Yaba: where heavy bad moods get cleared.

MindSpace Wellness Centre is a quiet room in Yaba with four activities and one purpose: fixing your character's mood. There are no jobs, no gigs and no skills to train here. What it offers instead is something almost nothing else in Lagos Life does: it can take away the heavy bad moods that follow a breakup, an arrest, a scam or a failed exam, which otherwise sit on your character for hours or even a whole day.

That sounds like a small thing until you understand how much mood matters. In Lagos Life your mood is your average need level plus every mood bonus and penalty you're carrying. A good mood makes every skill train faster, fills your performance bar faster at work, improves your odds when pitching a startup at CcHub and even adds marks to your exam score at UNILAG. A bad mood does the opposite, quietly, for as long as it lasts.

This guide explains which session to pick, when a visit is worth the money, and when you'd do better with a plate of food and a nap.

Opening hours

Daily
Open (7 AM – 10 PM)In-game time.

MindSpace opens at 7 AM and closes at 10 PM, every day, and nobody works here, so there are no shifts to plan around. The right time to come is straight after something has gone wrong, or just before something important. Mood bonuses from the sessions last from a few hours to half a day, so a visit the evening before a big day is partly wasted while you sleep. Come in the morning before a shift, an exam or a pitch, and the bonus is still running when it counts. If a bad event happens late at night, the centre is closed until morning, so eat, rest and come first thing.

Doors open at 7 AM and close at 10 PM in game time, every day of the week. Rent comes out every Saturday at 9 AM, wherever you are.

Time is in-game time. “Effect per go” is how far one go moves each need bar (out of 100): the game adds any one-off boost, such as a meal's hunger, to the activity's hourly rate times its length. The cheapest paid activity is Journal & Tea at ₦500. Prices are for ordinary players: once your net worth passes ₦1B, the game multiplies most of them by 10.

The four sessions split into two pairs. Join Group Therapy and One-on-One Session are the heavy hitters: both fill social and fun and leave a strong mood bonus, and both clear bad moods. Group Therapy clears the single worst heavy mood you're carrying, while the One-on-One clears all of them at once and leaves a bigger, longer bonus, for four times the price. Journal & Tea and Breathing Class are the cheap pair: small effects on your needs, but each leaves its own short mood bonus, and because they're different bonuses, they stack with each other and with the therapy sessions. Group Therapy is the best-value item in the building. It fills social as much as a candlelit rooftop dinner for less than half the price, more than any other social activity you can buy for under ten thousand naira.

Biggest mood boost for your money

  • One-on-One Session₦20,000 · 50 min+47

Total need points one go adds at MindSpace Wellness Centre (fun, social, hunger, energy, hygiene and bladder combined; drops in other bars not subtracted). Green bars are free.

The biggest single boost is Join Group Therapy (+67, ₦5,000). Per naira, Journal & Tea gives the most: about 22 points per ₦1,000.

MindSpace Wellness Centre tips: what actually works

Understand what mood actually does

Your mood starts from your needs: when the average of your six bars sits at half, your mood is neutral, and every bonus or penalty you carry is added on top. Above 40, every skill trains faster. At work, the performance you build each hour rises with your mood, so a happy character is promoted noticeably sooner than a gloomy one. For students, every point of mood adds a little to the semester exam score. Once you see that, a five-thousand-naira session before a promotion week looks cheap.

Use Group Therapy for one bad event

If one thing has gone wrong, such as a flopped pitch, a carry-over, a night in a cell or a scam, Group Therapy clears it and replaces it with a good mood bonus. For most bad days, that's all you need. Make sure the bad mood is still active when you arrive: a short one, like being stuck in go-slow, may wear off before you get here.

Book a One-on-One after a disaster

Heartbreak is the heaviest of these life-event moods and lasts a full day. If a breakup lands on the same day as an arrest or a scam, the One-on-One clears every one of them in one session and leaves the biggest bonus MindSpace offers. It's expensive for a new player, but cheaper than losing a day of training and a day of work performance to a crushing mood.

Stack the cheap sessions before a big moment

Journal & Tea and the Breathing Class cost little, take less than an hour together and add two separate bonuses. Do both, plus Group Therapy if you can afford it, right before a pitch at CcHub, an exam at UNILAG or a shift where you're close to promotion. Both are just down the road in Yaba.

Fix your needs first

Sessions can't feed you, wash you or rest you, and your needs make up a big part of your mood. If you're hungry, dirty and tired, eat at the UNILAG buka next door, wash and sleep before paying for therapy. MindSpace also doesn't treat sickness: the bad mood from malaria or typhoid only goes when the illness does, so use the chemist or the General Hospital.

Don't come for social alone if Sunday is close

Group Therapy is a great paid social boost, but the free Sunday Service at House of Grace fills social even more and leaves a good mood bonus for half a day. If your only problem is a low social bar and it's Sunday, go to church. Come to MindSpace when you have a bad mood to clear.

What a visit costs

A light visit, journal and breathing class, costs about two thousand naira and gives two short mood bonuses: a sensible routine before an important morning. A standard visit adds Group Therapy, which clears one bad mood and refills social, for well under ten thousand in total. A full reset is the One-on-One, which clears every heavy mood at once and costs about as much as three or four weeks of rent in a Yaba self-contain. That's a lot for a LAPO Baby or a UNILAG fresher, so new players should save it for real disasters and lean on Group Therapy otherwise. For a mid-career player, even the full reset is small money next to a lost day of performance.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Coming for a sickness. MindSpace clears bad moods from life events, not illness; the cure for that is the chemist or the hospital.
  • Paying for a One-on-One when you only carry one bad mood. Group Therapy clears a single heavy mood for a quarter of the price.
  • Visiting the night before. Most bonuses run out while you sleep; come the morning of the big day.
  • Paying for therapy while starving or exhausted. Your needs drag your mood more than any session lifts it, so eat and rest first.
  • Waiting for a short bad mood to clear. Some only last a few hours, so check what's still active before you pay.

Is MindSpace Wellness Centre worth it?

MindSpace is a specialist. Most days you won't need it, and the free mood sources, a good meal, a Sunday service, a lagoon sunset at UNILAG, will do. But when a bad event hits, especially a heartbreak, an arrest or a scam, nothing else in Lagos Life can clear it, and a fast recovery is worth real money if you're training, studying or chasing a promotion. Students, startup founders and anyone close to a promotion gate should know exactly where it is. The game itself carries a reminder worth repeating here: if things feel heavy in your own life, talk to someone you trust, whether that's a friend, family, a doctor or a local helpline.
