Airport Staff is one of the newest careers in Lagos Life, added alongside the airport itself. You work at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, starting as a Check-in Agent and moving through Security Officer, Ramp Supervisor and Terminal Duty Manager to Airport Manager. It trains Fitness and anyone can apply.
Its strengths are a good first-level wage — better than most no-requirement jobs — and a short ladder you can climb on Fitness alone. Its weakness is the lowest top salary of any career. Airport Staff is a superb first job and a natural stepping stone to Aviation, which works in the same building and pays far more.
In one line: A good walk-in wage and a ladder that sits between the entry-level and mid-level careers: Fitness 2, 4, 6 and 8.

Weekly pay assumes all 5 shifts. On top of the base rate, winning 4 tasks in one shift earns the +15% “Employee of the shift” bonus, the governor's minimum-wage policy adds another 15% in the weeks it's chosen, and pay is only taxed once you earn more than ₦1,000,000 in a week. Leave a shift early and you're paid only for the part you worked.
A typical Airport Staff week
Airport Staff work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6 AM to 2 PM. Wednesday and Saturday are off, and every afternoon is yours. The early start rewards a mainland home near Ikeja. The airport is open around the clock, so on your days off it's also your gateway to Abuja and Port Harcourt.
That's 40 hours on the clock each week. Your days off are Wed, Sat. Rent is due every Saturday at 9 AM, so make sure Friday's pay is in hand before you spend it.
How promotion works
Promotion in Lagos Life needs two things at once: a full performance bar and the Fitness level for the next title. You start a new job at 50 performance, the bar has to reach 100, and every promotion drops it back to 45. If the bar is full but your skill is short, your boss tells you so and you stay where you are until you train.
Performance rises every hour you're on shift. The base rate depends on your mood, each Fitness level adds a little, and the work style you pick when the shift starts makes the biggest difference:
- Do Your Work — 0 performance an hour; energy and fun −5 an hour.
- Work Like Jaguda — +3.2 performance an hour; energy and fun −9 an hour.
- Suck Up to Oga — +3.6 performance an hour; a gamble: +3.6 if it lands, −2 if it doesn't.
- Gist with Colleagues — -0.6 performance an hour; social +14 an hour.
- Take Am Easy — -2.4 performance an hour; saves energy, fun +2 an hour.
| Promotion to | Fitness needed | Shifts, normal pace | Shifts, working hard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Security Officer | 2 | 2 | 1 |
| Ramp Supervisor | 4 | 2 | 1 |
| Terminal Duty Manager | 6 | 2 | 1 |
| Airport Manager | 8 | 2 | 1 |
| Level 1 to 5 | 8 | 4 |
Estimates for a Happy mood (60/100) with Fitness sitting exactly at each gate, before task bonuses. A better mood or higher skill makes each shift count for more.
The takeaway: at 8 hours a shift, the bar fills in 2 shifts at a normal pace. Your Fitness level, not your attendance, is what really decides how fast you climb.
Tasks during your shift
Airport shifts are full of quick mini-games: tagging bags to the right destination, spotting the forbidden item on the X-ray screen, marshalling a plane into its stand with perfect timing, loading the hold and calling the boarding groups in order. Marshalling the plane in pays more performance than the average mini-game. Do every task yourself — passing it to a colleague barely counts — and you'll hit four wins for the Employee of the Shift bonus regularly.
How to train Fitness fast
Every in-game hour spent on a Fitness activity adds skill at that activity's rate, divided by 1 + 0.6 × your current level — so each level takes longer than the last. LAPO Babies and UNILAG freshers get ×1.25, and a mood above 40 adds ×1.15. These are the best places to train:
| Activity | Where | Cost | Rate | 0 → 8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Session with a Coach | i-Fitness | ₦1,000 | 3 | 8.3 h |
| Lift Weights | i-Fitness | ₦400 | 2 | 12 h |
| Run on the Treadmill | i-Fitness | ₦300 | 1.6 | 16 h |
| Jog Round the Track | University of Lagos | Free | 1.5 | 17 h |
| Work Out | Dumbbell Rack (₦3,400) | Free | 1.4 | 18 h |
| Beach Football | Elegushi Beach | Free | 1.2 | 21 h |
| Five-a-side at the Sports Centre | University of Lagos | Free | 1.2 | 21 h |
The best everyday option is Session with a Coach at i-Fitness for ₦1,000 a go. Starting from zero, that's about 52 min to Fitness 2 (Security Officer), 2.5 h to Fitness 4 (Ramp Supervisor), 5 h to Fitness 6 (Terminal Duty Manager) and 8.3 h to Fitness 8 (Airport Manager). A LAPO Baby in a good mood needs only 5.8 h to reach Fitness 8. Shifts help too: each hour at work trains Fitness at 0.35, but that alone would take about 71 h on the clock to reach 8 — so train on your days off.
UNILAG bonus: graduates earn 3%–20% more per shift by degree class. No UNILAG course lines up with Airport Staff for the extra 5%, but a First or 2:1 still lets you start at level 2.
Airport Staff strategy: what actually works
Know your gates
Airport Staff promotions need Fitness 2, 4, 6 and 8 — one level more than most walk-in careers (1, 3, 5 and 7), but well below the mid-level careers (4, 5, 7 and 9). Fitness is the fastest skill to train, so in practice the gates fall quickly.
Train Fitness at the coach
A Session with a Coach at i-Fitness is the fastest training in the game. Book one on your afternoons off; the UNILAG track is a free alternative if money's tight.
Decide when to switch to Aviation
Once you reach Fitness 3, Aviation will hire you at the same airport. Its first level pays more than a Security Officer and its top level pays far more than Airport Manager. Most players switch once they're comfortable with the 5 AM starts Aviation demands.
Sleep early
A 6 AM start on low energy means a bad mood and a slow performance bar. Treat bedtime as part of your shift.
Keep the airport for trips, not treats
The departure lounge and duty-free shop are priced for travellers. Grab food somewhere cheaper on the way to work.
What to do with the money
Airport Staff pays decently from day one and leaves your afternoons free, so it's a good base for saving. Put early wages into a small business and, once you switch to Aviation, grow it into a bigger portfolio. Because the top salary is limited, Airport Staff works best as a stepping stone: earn, train Fitness, move up.

Other careers that train Fitness, so you can switch without starting from zero: Nursing (₦75,000 at level 5), Fitness Coach (₦69,000 at level 5), Medicine (₦90,000 at level 5), Aviation (₦95,000 at level 5).
Mistakes to avoid
- Staying as Airport Staff long-term. Its top salary is the lowest of any career.
- Forgetting that Aviation is in the same building and only needs Fitness 3.
- Paying lounge prices for breakfast at your own workplace.
- Late nights before a 6 AM shift.
Is Airport Staff right for you?
Pick Airport Staff if you want a no-requirement job with good starting pay, the fastest-training skill in the game and a clear path to one of the best careers. It's an ideal first job for anyone aiming at Aviation. If you want a no-requirement job with a high ceiling instead, Refining pays the best first-level wage and finishes far higher.
